Branded History

“What is Past is Prologue”

The lessons from history are always relevant to the issues we face today and truth is always stranger than fiction.  That’s why content based on true stories and real history must continue to be made.  Like Sci-Fi, stories and lessons that are so very relevant today can be taught through the guise of a galaxy far, far away – or in a true story that happened long, long ago.  However, like Sci-Fi, period pieces and epic dramas are expensive.  That’s why Pennlyn Productions is focusing on “Branded History” projects.  To offset the inherent risk of investing in “period” stories, Pennlyn focuses on stories with built-in brand appeal.

At the lowest point in his life and baseball career, BABE RUTH is offered a chance to lead an All-Star baseball Good Will tour of Pre-War 1934 Japan.

The Babe not only experiences and discovers a different culture, but also humility, a new found respect for the game of baseball, and the inspiration not to give up on the game he loves.

A heart warming story about baseball, nationalism, and American & Japanese cultural history, as well as a tale of international intrigue, espionage, attempted murder, and, of course, baseball. BANZAI BABE RUTH is the only detailed account of the doomed attempt to reconcile the United States and Japan through the 1934 All-American baseball tour.

THE NATURAL meets LOST IN TRANSLATION

Bio-pic of Nikola Tesla who battled Thomas Edison for electricity supremacy and won – only to be cheated out of the fame and fortune he was duly owed.

The greatest true story never told.

Sweeping bio-pic of the first true American icon, Benjamin Franklin.

Writer, diplomat, scientist, philosopher, businessman, inventor, and bon vivant, Benjamin Franklin was in every respect America’s first Renaissance man.

From penniless runaway to highly successful printer, from ardently loyal subject of Britain to architect of an alliance with France that ensured America’s independence.

A complicated and conflicting portrait of an even more complex and flawed man who had a hand in creating every pillar of our American society as we still know it today.
